If you’ve been holding onto your favorite pair of skinny jeans, it might be time to take them out of storage.
Skinny jeans made an unexpected return during the Spring-Summer 2025 collections, signaling a potential shift in the world of denim. According to Susie Draffan, senior denim strategist at WGSN, “We anticipate a very slow comeback for skinny jeans in 2025. This is still in the early testing phase, but for the first time in years, skinny jeans have seen an uptick on the Spring-Summer 2025 runways.”
Notable brands like Coach, Diesel, Off-White, and Maison Margiela were at the forefront of this revival, showcasing the slim silhouette with a modern twist. This resurgence is also tied to the broader cultural return of the early 2010s aesthetic, often referred to as “indie sleaze.”
However, Draffan offers a word of caution: “Don’t get too excited. It’s important to contextualize that this increase in visibility is starting from a very small base. Wide-leg jeans remain the dominant silhouette.”
Whether you’re ready to embrace this nostalgic trend or prefer to stick to relaxed fits, one thing is clear: fashion always finds a way to reinvent itself. Are you team skinny jeans, or will you hold on to the oversized denim era a little longer?
