There it was: Effio, out of nowhere! During the black/grey socks' winter
of 2007 Effio appeared and showed her first collection of designer
socks to the world.
Our aim is as clear as it is simple: making
superior socks that are distinguish in design, use of colour and
comfort. We created a parting of the ways. The new generation of sock
wearers is aware of living life by looking at the main lines while
focusing on the details. Small events and things should be noticed, they
make life real, mysterious and give it colour. Just like the details of
your outfit is the sock.

-THE STORY OF USP-
It all started with an out of control passion for T-shirts.
Jeffrey
Heerkens literally grew up surrounded by sneakers, sweats and jerseys.
His father owned a sportswear company and took his kids to the USA
regularly. Impressed by the American street culture, and sports in
particular, the young Jeffrey instantly developed a longtime crush for
cool printed tees.
When he enrolled for a marketing study
program Jeffrey also started working in a clothing store. And as much as
he enjoyed selling brands, he was always more curious about becoming
one. His untamed love for tees as well as the entrepreneurship in his
blood made him eventually decide to chase his dream of launching a
T-shirt line. At the time he was only twenty-one.
Jeffrey named
his company USP after Unique Selling Point, because he strongly felt
that would be the key to success for every single T-shirt. He wanted to
create something that was original and edgy, inspired by the real cool
things in his life. In the back room of his father’s office the young
entrepreneur started working on his very first collection for men.
Kultivate was born.
Proud of what he achieved so far Jeffrey still had to convince buyers and retailers.
So he took the train with a backpack full of samples and a good dose of
courage. That’s when he discovered being an entrepreneur isn’t always
the coolest job on earth. Luckily his hard work paid off. A few shops
saw the potential of an independent, young and innovative T-shirt brand.
Most of them never stopped buying ever since.
Five years after
the first collection Kultivate was on a roll. It was time for USP to
expand their business with the introduction of a women’s line. Catwalk
Junkie was launched in 2008 and became as successful as her big brother.
Inspired by the vibrant lifestyle of IT-girls, hipsters and other
influencers Catwalk Junkie combines attitude with style and creativity.
Thus, the brand conquered the hearts of many.
And yet, after ten years of hard work both Kultivate and Catwalk Junkie are still growing.
Together with a dedicated team and the support of family and friends USP managed to become a key player within the Dutch Fashion Industry. A new decade has begun and that means a new goal: going abroad. You’ve read the story of USP, but it’s definitely not finished yet. It all started with an out of control passion for T-shirts. A way of living since 1951
As the Swedish saying goes, “There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes”. Rewind to 1951 and Varberg, on the Swedish west coast, Paul Rydholm start a small-scale production of sportswear - the beginning of Tenson.
Straight away it was clear the weather would play an important role in the collection. It’s not the coldest place on earth. But during autumn and winter it’s a windy, chilly, rainy and humid place. Paul Rydholm loved being outdoors and for him bad weather was just another excuse to go outside and feel the elements. Since then, Tenson has been influenced and driven by the coastal way of life. We take experience and know-how, and put it into our collections of outdoor and lifestyle apparel.

Early one Sunday morning in 2007, Henrik, Knut and Thomas, three Norwegians in their twenties, fantasized about the ultimate chill-out wear that would be perfect for a lazy day at home. They all agreed on the merits of the sweatsuit for recovering from a night on the town. "But without the tight waistband and the pressure to go jogging," Thomas said. Knut had been staring at a light bulb when, eureka, it all became clear: "Why not sew together a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants? Let's make it so big that no one in their right mind would think of working out." "If we can skip the waistband, I'm all for it," said Thomas. "But how are we going to get into it?" "No sweat," replied Henrik, "we'll just put in a big zipper." And with that the OnePiece Jump In was born. The three friends dropped everything and invested all their savings to realize an idea they believed was unique and brilliant. They made the loose-fitting, all-in-one hooded sweatsuits in soft, thick cotton fleece in a wide variety of colours and patterns. For two years they sold the OnePiece to friends and marketed it to high-school seniors in Norway. Then, in autumn 2009, some bloggers wrote about how much they loved the OnePiece, which triggered other bloggers to rant about how much they hated it. Fuelled by massive debate in social media, the OnePiece Jump in became a huge trend in Scandinavia in 2010, and is now catching on in England and other European countries. "We were as surprised as anyone when people started wearing the OnePiece at clubs and it became a fashion and lifestyle statement," says Thomas, who has left university to devote all his time and energy to the OnePiece. "I think that the versatility of our jumpsuit and the fact that it is extremely comfortable are the main reasons for its success." Even as the OnePiece wave hits country after country, gaining a foothold, Knut, Thomas and Henrik are busy developing new ideas and concepts. To be sure, the OnePiece won't be their last innovative fashion item.
