World’s biggest search engine has added a new feature: it now shows how busy your favourite store is. Google has announced it in an update, informing people the best time to go shopping, or how to avoid the busiest hours and save time. Millions of stores worldwide are equipped with the feature, including some Dutch companies.

The option is only available for mobile devices. When searching for example for ‘de Bijenkorf Amsterdam’ and tapping ‘more about’, the info will display itself amongst the usual company info.

Google bases its information on anonymous location data from mobile android users. It’s the same type of info as it is gathered for features like live traffic information.
