Outlet village Batavia Stad to expand by 5.500 m2
Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet in Lelystad wants to expand
significantly. The mall plans to increase its capacity with forty five new stores.
Currently, the outlet village has more
than a hundred shops, offering two hundred and fifty fashion brands for sale.
The expansion is due to start this fall. The shopping
paradise will then grow, creating 5,500 square meters
of additional retail floor. That will bring the total sales area of Batavia
Stad to 31,000
square meters. The opening of the new stores is planned
for the fourth quarter of 2016. The expansion will create three hundred new jobs, bringing
the job total to1100.
Patrick Jansen, director of Batavia Stad stated: "We
are very excited about this expansion. This will not only meet the growing need
for premium and luxury brands to open a store in Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet,
but this will also make us a must-see destination for tourists who visit
Amsterdam even more.
